Can you take a deep breath?

Can you take a deep breath when you see a huge airplane
flying into a skyscraper and exploding into a cloud of fire?
Can you take a deep breath when your spouse is facing a choice of
being burned alive or jumping out of a window on the 90th floor?
Can you take a deep breath when you are knocked off your feet
by the pressure wave created by the collapse of a gigantic building?
Can you take a deep breath when smoke, dust and ashes all around you
turn a sunny day into a gloomy dusk?
Can you take a deep breath when the air is thick with the nauseating
stench of charred and decomposing flesh of thousands
of people crushed by the rubble?
Can you take a deep breath and turn another cheek?
Oh well, maybe not right away, maybe a little later...
