For Kacy
A lovelier girl you will not find
To occupy a poet's mind,
For she's been mesmerizing me
With those charms from Tennessee.
There's no pageant she can't win--
This girl whose beauty shines within--
And I could walk a thousand miles
Just to see Kacy's dashing smile.
For it's her beauty that ignites
And lifts me up to greater heights--
Like a young lover bold and free,
Roaming the woods of Tennessee.
And by the river I'll dream
A flower floating downstream,
And I will know that it must be
My blooming girl from Tennessee.
