Poetry by Christina Fox

Jackpot

It's another rollover
And it's me who wins the jackpot
Even though I can't see your face
I know you're looking
This is all I need to remember
Your intangible chord
Rings down this cup and string
But once you said too soon
And I took my home of snail shell
Weight on my back
Now I'm the wait on yours
Till you turn in the morning
And say
It is today.
