About the Author:
Being adopted at the age of three, I have a confusing background even to myself. If variety is "the spice of life," I'm gifted with abundance of taste. Maybe as a result of my shallow roots, I love to travel and experience the world from the perspective of other cultures. In turn, I love to explore the shared meanings that we humans can find together. I had the privilege of living a great deal of my earthly years in Africa and India. I see the world as my playground. I love to investigate and analyze, and this combines with my sense of personal spirituality which is very important to me.

"Get a life"
Alright, I want one,
but can you tell me
What it is?
Where it is?
Who can give me one?
You say,
"Get a life"
Define this please --
Do you mean
Get laid?
Get drunk?
Get money?
Get educated?
Do these pursuits
define life for me?
Please explain --
Your intended insult
"Get a life"
Does this life
grow on trees?
Can I buy it with money?
Do I need a different style?
Haircut? Plastic surgery?
Do you suggest
My existence lacks?
Well, I guess it does ... but,
Does yours?
"Get a life"
You set yourself up
as my judge
but, you cannot tell me
what "Get a life"
means ...
Because you need
to live YOUR life
to find it.
