About the Author:
Being adopted at the age of three, I have a confusing background even to myself. If variety is "the spice of life," I'm gifted with abundance of taste. Maybe as a result of my shallow roots, I love to travel and experience the world from the perspective of other cultures. In turn, I love to explore the shared meanings that we humans can find together. I had the privilege of living a great deal of my earthly years in Africa and India. I see the world as my playground. I love to investigate and analyze, and this combines with my sense of personal spirituality which is very important to me.

Poe's Heckler

Loudmouth magpie of the sky,
Carrion feeding minah of gehenna,
Scouting confidently for fattening scraps.
Contending with rats the size of cats.
Jetblack wraith pick-pecks a bone,
Ravenlike pretender, its croaks intone.
Head flicking a tilt, a questioning look,
Calling caw caw caw, replied the rook.
